Rooms and Facilities

The Queanbeyan Uniting Church seeks to be a positive influence in our community and offers its buildings to the community for hire/use as part of that commitment.

We have an extensive suite of buildings (modern and retro), it’s located in a prime central Queanbeyan location, surrounded by ample parking and adjoining the Queanbeyan CBD. We have meeting rooms and conference facilities for 10 to 200 people, we can accommodate 90 people for a sit-down meal, we have a commercial-grade kitchen and provide some great spaces for children’s parties.

Our rooms and Facilities include:

Worship Space / Auditorium  (New Church)

A large flexible worship space/auditorium (the “New Church”) with good acoustics, lighting, heating and sound systems, seating approx. 250 people (and with the ability to seat around 100 more in the adjoining large foyer area). This modern space is suitable for worship, weddings and funerals and is also frequently used for concerts, performances recitals, seminars, meetings and training sessions, amongst other uses. This space also has a large retractable screen and projectors to show DVDs and PowerPoint presentations. Two medium-sized rooms behind the feature mosaic wall area can be adapted for use as change rooms, storage for costumes/instruments etc.

C.A.S.T Area / Foyer

Large open foyer (“CAST”) area with reverse-cycle air-conditioning suitable for catering (meals, morning and afternoon teas, etc.) plus multiple folding tables, stackable chairs, coffee tables and lounge area. This flexible area is also used for meetings, seminars, displays and activities for seniors, youth and other community groups. It can comfortably hold 80 to 90 people seated at tables. 

Play Room / Meeting Room

A sound-proofed air-conditioned playroom for parents/carers and children with wall-to-ceiling glass access to the main worship space and a sound system enabling all events in the main auditorium to be clearly heard. 

There is a disabled toilet with a baby change table off the side of this room.

This space can also be used as a meeting space, comfortably seating 10 to 12 people.

Kitchen (New Church)

A modern kitchen opening onto the main foyer area, equipped with a commercial dishwasher, large refrigerator, microwave, large modern electric/gas range and oven, continuous boiling water, and a full range of crockery, cutlery, consumables, and kitchen electrical appliances.

Suitable for cater from gatherings of 5 to 200 people (for sit-down functions above 80 people, extra crockery and cutlery may be needed).

Chapel (The Old Church)

‘The Old Church’ comfortably seats 60 people, this 150+year old church is a trip down memory lane! When dressed up it makes for a suitable space for a small wedding, funeral, or small conference. 

Memorial Hall

Part of our traditional buildings and facilities, a rustic older hall with a small stage. The Memorial Hall will provide for 70 to 80 people seated at tables, and around 150 at a standing function. It is a space suitable for a medium size dinner, exhibition, or small concert. (It doesn't have its own sound system)

The memorial hall adjoins our old kitchen which may be used for serving pre-prepared food.

KUCA and Blue Rooms  (Meeting Rooms)

We have two adjoining rooms, each capable of hosting up to 15 people for a meeting/event. Also suitable for children’s parties, with access to our rear grounds (grassed area). A small tap and sink area is located in the KUCA room – good for boiling a kettle.
